From Ground Up: Building a Sustainable Future for Poultry Farming at Innova Agro Farm

1. Strategic Housing and Disease Control Our new house features raised wooden flooring and galvanized wire mesh walls. This design choice provides two critical benefits:

  • Ventilation: Proper airflow is essential in Uganda’s climate. It regulates temperature, keeps the environment dry, and dramatically reduces respiratory disease risk.

  • Hygiene: The structure simplifies waste management. With proper feeding and cleaning protocols, smallholder farmers can earn steady, sustainable profits and successfully expand their farms.

2. Optimizing High-Productivity Breeds Commercial production demands efficiency. We are setting up our new house to effectively manage layers, specifically breeds like ISA Brown and various broiler strains. These high-productivity breeds achieve their genetic potential only when provided with the correct housing and disease control that our system offers.

Our Vision for Uganda’s Agro-Economy The private sector plays a vital role in offering extension services, affordable vaccines, and financial support. If this momentum continues, poultry farming will not only reduce unemployment but also strengthen food security and boost Uganda’s entire economy.

Our journey from construction (pictured above) to a functional, productive commercial farm is our commitment to that future. We are building it from the ground up, and we invite you to join us.
